The Cruise Tour Guide takes guests on a journey around the Toronto Harbour sharing fun facts about Toronto’s history and prominent landmarks. The successful candidate will contribute to creating an amazing experience for all guests on board.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide amazing hospitality to guests and coworkers as prescribed in our RESPECT Service System.• Responsible for line management, scanning tickets and greeting guests upon boarding.• Learn information for the narration and prepare your own "verbalization" of the 60-minute tour of Toronto Harbour; Narrators are provided with all the necessary information and on-site training.• Deliver an engaging and informative tour on the vessel, using a microphone, in front of the passengers.• Provide information to guests, including products offered, cruise route, and Toronto history.• Greet and interact with passengers in a friendly, courteous manner; playing the role of "congenial host," greeting guests with a smile, and bidding them farewell at the end of the cruise.• Receive passengers and inform them about boarding procedures.• Provide directions to points of interest in the area, such as historical sites, restaurants, tourist attractions, transportation etc.• Communicating with the onboard Food and Beverage and Marine teams to ensure a smooth and efficient guest experience and cruising schedule.• Assist with daily setup and breakdown activities by placing required signage in designated dock areas prior to operations and returning signage to the vessel at the end of the day in a timely and organized manner.• Support ticket booth operations by assisting the Guest Sales Agent during scheduled breaks and peak operational periods, including providing information to guests, selling tickets, and responding to inquiries related to company offerings, services, schedules, and pricing.• Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards.• Take part in safety drills and work in cooperation with the captain and crew of the vessel.• Communicate clearly with other departments and personnel.• Additional job duties assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications:
• Ability to learn and memorize information, and to deliver an engaging “story-like” tour.• Ability to express history/facts/anecdotes in a clear and coherent delivery style.• Energetic and enthusiastic personality is essential.• Capacity to keep calm and maintain a pleasant demeanor in a busy, fast-paced work environment.• Ability to stand for long periods of time and work outdoors in all weather conditions.• If required, wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e. non-slip shoes, gloves, weather appropriate dress attire, sun protection)• A commitment to being on time and delivering a consistently engaging, informative, and interactive tour.• Will be required to be available for work on weekends and all major holidays.• Must be available to work through at least Labour Day, and preferably through to November 30th (or, alternatively, the close of November)
