The Product Manager/Offering Specialist supports the lifecycle direction and management of Armstrongs Modular Performance Systems (MPS) product category. This role is accountable for supporting product roadmap definition and commercial success across key verticals.
In addition to annual initiatives and duties assigned by management, the key accountabilities of this position are:
STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT
- Support development of business cases and investment recommendations
- Manages the execution of the pricing strategy
- Contribute to product lifecycle management
- Track field performance and support initiatives to enhance BOM cost, manufacturing efficiency, and inventory turnover.
MARKET AND PRODUCT MANAGEMENT
- Analyze macro and HVAC-specific trends
- Assess addressable markets (e.g., commercial buildings, data centers, institutional retrofits), growth rates, and competitive dynamics.
- Execute Voice of Customer (VOC) and Voice of Sales (VOS) engagements to validate product-market fit.
- Support development and execution of the Offering Roadmap through clear value propositions, segment positioning, and feature prioritization.
BUSINESS OPERATIONS
- Supports the marketing and communication initiatives for the offering
- Works collaboratively with Sales, Operations and other stakeholder teams to enable and execute business strategy
- As the duties of the role develop and requirements of the company change, the role will be required to carry out other duties
Job Requirements Include:
Education and Experience
- Educational requirement: Degree in Engineering in Mechanical or Electrical fields.
- The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years experience in HVAC industry
- Having experience working with product development is an asset
- Demonstrated knowledge of product engineering and management principles is preferred
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Aha!, and JIRA.
- Understanding of mechanical system design.
- Capability to translate complex offering strategies into commercially viable solutions.
Soft Skills
- Creative problem-solving skills, conflict management within different organizations (centralized and matrix organizational structures)
- Ability to break down complex problems in a simplified way and communicate same to different stakeholders
- Strong, team-oriented skills with presence and a bias for action.
- Self-directed with ability to work autonomously and collaboratively and a focus on results.
- Ability to communicate in an open and authentic manner in all situations
